About us!


Our celebrated Chef Hiro started training at the ripe age of 8 at his Mother's Restaurant in Hawaii. It is here where Hiro learned the basics to the art of Sushi under his original master. Falling in love with the world of Gastronomy, Hiro went on to train in multiple culinary styles including Japanese, French, Italian, Chinese, Korean, Cajun & Caribbean cuisines. Chef Hiro's vibrant use of fusing the tastes of the world for his menu is one of his specialties as a sushi master. He ample knowledge of cultural cuisine has given him over 20 years of professional work as a Chef.

Hiro has experiences working in Hawaii where he became the Executive chef of the Ugly Duckling Corporation, owner of 3 restaurants on the island of Maui. Hiro Left the islands in 2002 where he received an opportunity to work on a cruise ship as the Executive Chef of Alternative Restaurants under a 3 star Michelin Chef Marco Pierre White. After leaving the cruise ships, Hiro went on to Las Vegas and Utah as Executive Chef of numerous fine dining establishments and restaurants.

Chef Hiro has cooked for many high profile clientel including the Prince of Japan, Prince of Malaysia, and many more. Hiro has been awarded “Best Chef” at the Taste of South Maui in 2001 & 2002 and Top 100 Chefs in Las Vegas in 2006 & 2007.

Chef Hiro is very excited to come to Morro Bay to make it his home and to bring his unique freestyle sushi to our coastal community.
